East Harlem Housing Rally

Strycker's Bay is sharing the following information on an East Harlem march against gentrification from the organization, Picture The Homeless

WILL YOU BE CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS AND THREE KINGS DAY IN THE STREET?!?

Every December, dozens of East Harlem families find themselves
celebrating the holiday in homeless shelters and in the overcrowded
apartments of friends and family, because they've been evicted from
their homes. Landlords are buying up buildings, raising rents, and
kicking folks out!

Now is the time for us to come together and DEMAND AN END TO
DISPLACEMENT AND GENTRIFICATION.

JOIN US ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 10TH, AT 5PM
ON THE CORNER OF 96th STREET AND 3RD AVENUE
FOR A MARCH AGAINST DISPLACEMENT

We'll be singing homeless Christmas carols and showing our neighbors
that we need to fight back. This Christmas, the best gift you can GIVE
your family is to TAKE back your community.

Sponsored by the East Harlem Anti-Displacement Task Force—a joint
initiative of the office of City Council Member Melissa Mark Viverito,
Picture the Homeless, Community Voices Heard, Tenants & Neighbors,
Clinton Houses, Jefferson Houses, and Hope Community (LIST IN
FORMATION).
